Students from across 92 schools participated in this year’s Sydney Catholic Schools Performance Eisteddfod at Southern Cross Burwood. There were over 400 students performing in a number of categories. Casimir Catholic College had 10 Musically gifted students who represented the college in a number of categories including Classical Instrumental, Contemporary Instrumental, Ensemble and Piano Solo performance. For many of the students, this was their first time performing in front of a panel of judges and live audience.
Casimir Catholic College successfully won two trophies on the day. The school band received second place in the Contemporary Beginner Ensemble category performing Never Tear Us Apart by INXS! Faith Parker in Year 8 received first place in the Beginner Contemporary Solo category performing Stevie Wonder’s hit I Wish on bass Guitar!
The standard in performance across all categories was extremely high and it was a great experience to witness the skill of upcoming musicians. Casimir is very proud of all students who participated in the event. It was fantastic for the students to be acknowledged for their ongoing commitment to instrumental practise and rehearsals. We are looking forward to bringing back more trophies in next year’s event! Rock On?
